Where will you be working?
This role is in our Metering team, our team is responsible for installing, maintaining and managing meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored. We leverage our industry expertise and data insight capabilities to create solutions that fit the needs of our customers across the Group.
What will you be doing?
The Capacity Manager is accountable for ensuring sufficient operational resource exists to deliver contractual commitments.
The role owns workforce planning, resource forecasting, roster management and engineer deployment strategies, balancing short-term operational requirements with longer-term resource planning.
Within the operating model, this role sits within the "Before the Day" function and underpins delivery readiness.
- Create and maintain short, medium and long-term capacity plans.
- Forecast engineer requirements across regions and work types.
- Maintain workforce models aligned to customer demand forecasts.
- Lead planning of annual leave, training, contingencies and absence impacts.
- Identify future recruitment and subcontractor requirements.
- Work with Operations Managers to ensure resources are positioned effectively.
- Manage capacity risk and develop mitigation plans.
- Support mobilisation activity and workforce growth plans.
- Collaborate with HR and Recruitment to maintain required headcount levels.
- Ensure field resources are deployed efficiently across geographical areas.
What they’ll bring:
You’ll combine strong workforce planning expertise with a data-led approach to ensure the right resources are in the right place at the right time. Confident working in a fast-paced, field-based environment, you'll use insight, forecasting and planning systems to drive operational performance and customer outcomes.
Essential:
- Proven experience in workforce planning and resource management.
- Experience operating within a field-based service environment.
- Advanced forecasting, scheduling and capacity planning skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.
- Experience using and managing planning and scheduling systems.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of smart metering operations.
- Understanding of engineer competency frameworks.
- Experience with workforce management solutions and optimisation tools.
