We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. This role will be within our Demand management and network infrastructure team. We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.

What will you be doing?
We're looking for an experienced and driven Area Stores Manager to lead our stores operation across the Smart Metering Thames Water Contract, overseeing sites in Dartford, Stoke Newington/Kingston and Wantage.
This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering operational excellence, building high-performing teams, maintaining exceptional standards, and ensuring our stores support the wider business effectively. You will lead from the front, driving performance against key operational and commercial objectives while creating a positive and accountable working culture.

You'll have proven experience managing multiple stores, depots or operational sites, with a strong understanding of stock control, inventory management and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and operational efficiency. You'll be an inspiring leader who can motivate, develop and support teams across different locations, creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture where people feel empowered to succeed.
With excellent organisational and planning skills, we'll need you to be confident managing resources, staffing levels and operational priorities while ensuring safe, efficient and compliant store operations. You'll have a customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, operational teams and key stakeholders, delivering excellent service and resolving challenges effectively.
You'll bring experience of managing plant, equipment or operational assets, ensuring stock availability, servicing schedules and compliance requirements are met while maximising utilisation across the business. A commercially minded and analytical approach is essential, with the ability to use data, performance metrics and operational insight to identify opportunities, drive continuous improvement and enhance service delivery.
Most importantly, you'll be a proactive problem solver with strong communication and decision-making skills, capable of leading change, managing budgets and KPIs, and delivering operational, commercial and people performance across multiple sites.

- Have you got experience managing stock, inventory control and plant assets would be advantageous?
- Do you hold a valid UK driving licence?
