    Reporting to the Assurance Delivery Director, the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing will play a key leadership role in our Highways division. This is a high-profile role, working with business directors, operational leaders and the wider Highways industry to shape strategy, drive cultural change, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing.

    This is a hybrid working role with a requirement to be in our Warwick HQ on an ad-hoc basis, as well as other UK based site travel when needed.

    What you’ll do: 

    • Lead the Health, Safety & Wellbeing strategy, ensuring it supports business priorities and drives measurable improvements in safety, health and welfare outcomes
    • Own and continually evolve the division’s Health & Safety Management System, ensuring it is robust, practical and aligned with legislation, ISO45001, client requirements and the changing needs of the business.
    • Drive a proactive safety culture of visible safety leadership, governance and continual improvement, embedding heath, safety and wellbeing into everyday operations.
    • Lead and inspire a team of Health & Safety professionals, to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality assurance, support and advice.
    • Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and industry forums to influence standards and best practice.
    • Provide expert leadership on H&S significant risk management, overseeing effective incident response and investigation, ensuring lessons are learned, corrective actions are implemented and senior stakeholders have clear visibility of performance, risks and key H&S KPIs.
    • Champion a positive safety and wellbeing culture, embedding proactive approaches to physical, mental and occupational wellbeing and promoting psychological safety across the organisation.

    Who you are:

    You are an experienced Health & Safety professional with proven strategic experience in complex, operational environments, as well as a confident senior leader who can influence at all levels, shape strategy and embed a proactive safety and wellbeing culture.

    Key Requirements:

    • Experience in transportation technology or related sectors, ideally in the Highways industry.
    • Proven experience delivering business-wide health and safety improvement and culture change, with strong knowledge of legal and client requirements.
    • Strong team leadership / management skills
    • Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
    • Skilled investigator with experience in delivering formal management investigations under legal privilege
    • NEBOSH Diploma or similar level of formal H&S qualifications
    • CMIOSH
    • Full UK driving license
