You’ll be joining our Highways Division – as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

Stakeholder and client management – You build trusted relationships providing clear, practical environmental advice. You’ll:
- Provide clear environmental and sustainability guidance to project, design, bid, commercial and operational teams, helping them meet legislative, client and business requirements
- Work with clients, regulators, suppliers and specialist partners to coordinate environmental requirements and maintain effective working relationships
- Represent the business in meetings, audits and stakeholder engagements, acting with integrity, confidence and commercial awareness
- Deliver environmental awareness training, toolbox talks and communications
Governance and assurance – You help projects apply governance and improve assurance. You’ll:
- Manage the implementation and ongoing improvement of the Environmental Management System at project level, helping teams meet ISO 14001, PAS 2080 and other relevant requirements
- Plan and carry out environmental audits, inspections and compliance checks, tracking performance and help with corrective actions
- Make sure waste Duty of Care requirements are met, including documentation reviews, site inspections and performance monitoring

- Specialist support – You provide specialist environmental input that supports compliant, well-planned delivery. You’ll:

- Support pre‑construction activity where needed, including planning, EIA and DCO processes
- Lead or coordinate environmental permits, consents and licences, making sure works meet regulatory and contractual requirements
- Work with operational teams to coordinate environmental specialists on projects
Delivery support, risk and commercial– You help projects manage environmental risk and deliver compliant work. You’ll:
- Develop, review and maintain project environmental and sustainability documentation, management plans and actions
- Identify, assess and manage environmental and sustainability risks and opportunities from tender through to construction stages
- Support environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions
- Support bid and tender activity where needed, contributing environmental inputs and considerations
Performance, reporting and improvement – You use data and insight to support environmental performance and improvements. You’ll:
- Capture, analyse and report environmental and sustainability performance data supporting divisional KPIs and timely internal and client reporting
- Support delivery of environmental strategy targets and local plans by promoting resource efficiency, carbon reduction and project‑level innovation
- Share lessons learned and support the development and use of best practice, improvement plans and digital tools
- Support wider sustainability activities where needed to deliver shared outcomes

- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 14001)
- PAS 2080 Carbon Management knowledge or certification
- Experience within infrastructure, highways, utilities or energy sectors
