Reporting into the NOC Deputy Manager, the successful NOC Engineer will provide first line diagnostics and technical updates on incidents to customers and other members of the service desk team. Based at our Quinton office, Birmingham (B32 1AF), and follows a 24/7 rotating shift pattern of 2 days on, 2 nights on, followed by 4 days off. All shifts are 12 hours long (7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am), providing a structured and predictable work schedule.
What you’ll do:
- To provide alarm surveillance and progress incidents as per KPI/SLT's
- Handle incoming calls & emails in line with project KPI's and SLT's
- Accurate assignment of tasks/activities to appropriate resolver groups for incident management
- To provide support to Telent Operations & Maintenance team and liaise with the technical support and provisioning teams
- Ability to prioritise network alarms and incidents in order to fulfil KPI commitments
- Work well within a NOC team and have the ability to work 24x7 shift pattern which includes days and nights.
Who you are:
You will have previous experience within a similar role, supporting Enterprise and Service Providers within a Telecoms/Network environment.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to pass Security Clearance Requirements
- Experience of delivering against KPIs/SLTs preferable
- Have experience of working in an IT/Networking/Server environment
- Adaptable to varying workload
- A team player with the ability to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with people at all levels of seniority.
