Where will you be working?
You'll be working across Rail, Aviation, Defence & Adjacent Markets. You'll visit major international airports, see our wide range of specialist rail engineering projects across the UK and be involved in the maintenance and upgrades of defence properties, airfields, military bases, ports, railway infrastructure and depots.

What will you be doing?
The role ensures all scheduling activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements. Covering in-day, future, and out-of-hours workloads, it manages risk, maintains service continuity, and supports KPIs. The Senior Scheduling Coordinator also optimises resource use, reduces disruption, and enables safe, right-first-time delivery, while providing guidance and informal leadership to drive consistent, high-quality scheduling practices.
What will you be doing?
Support and oversee Coordinators, acting as a senior escalation point while managing team capability and capacity
Deliver accurate, compliant schedules aligned to priorities, service levels and operational capacity, promoting right-first-time delivery and minimising disruption
Maintain visibility of workload and capacity, allocating and adjusting resources based on demand, skills and location to optimise performance
Manage in-day changes and disruptions, mitigating risks to performance, safety and compliance, and replanning work as needed
Maintain systems, trackers and workflows, supporting planning, reporting, commercial data and coordination of meetings and actions
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and safety standards, embedding a safety-first approach and maintaining accurate audit records while escalating risks
Collaborate with operational teams and customers, communicating clearly to manage expectations and resolve issues, acting as a key scheduling contact
Maintain accurate system data, monitor KPIs and service levels, and support reporting and analysis to identify trends and improvements
Provide coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing, promoting consistent processes and supporting development across the team
Carry out additional duties in line with M Group policies and standards
Plan and prioritise complex workloads, deliver against targets, solve problems using data and build strong working relationships while maintaining compliance and safety standards
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in scheduling, planning or coordination within an operational environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high workloads and shifting priorities
- Confident user of scheduling or works management systems, with strong IT capability
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively at all levels
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
- Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
- Good standard of general education (GCSEs or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Experience within utilities, highways, transport or infrastructure
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations
- Experience supporting or guiding others in a planning or scheduling function
- Exposure to performance reporting, dashboards or management information
- Experience contributing to process improvement or optimisation initiatives
