    Where will you be working?  

    At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.  

    This role will be within our Metering team. You’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.  Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

    What will you be doing?  

    As an Operations Manager, you’ll provide leadership across a geographical cluster, taking ownership of the Data Collection field teams and supporting Field Managers to deliver safe, compliant and high‑performing operations.

    You’ll lead with care, champion safety and create an inclusive culture where people feel valued, listened to and empowered to contribute ideas. This is a role with real influence — shaping performance, developing leaders and driving consistent delivery across your cluster. This is a remote role with regular regional travel.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Safety leadership – championing health & safety standards, ensuring compliance, auditing activity and embedding a strong safety culture across all teams
    • People leadership & engagement – owning people processes within your cluster, working closely with HR and holding yourself and your managers accountable for engagement commitments
    • Coaching & development – mentoring and developing Field Managers through structured and in‑the‑moment coaching, training plans, workshops and development programmes
    • Operational excellence – ensuring Field Managers are leading effectively and delivering against safety, performance, commercial and governance expectations
    • Financial governance – managing revenue and costs within target, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve margin
    • Commercial delivery – ensuring customer obligations are met, with a clear understanding of contractual expectations and balanced performance across the region
    • Collaboration & consistency – working closely with fellow Operations Managers regionally and nationally to share best practice and deliver a consistent field approach

    This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll influence, innovate and make a meaningful difference.
