You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
Part of a team responsible for procurement administration support across all M Group Highways regions for civils projects, highways maintenance and street lighting sectors. This role underpins subcontract coordination by despatching and tracking subcontract orders, ensuring approvals and document execution, maintaining accurate records and trackers, coordinating supplier pre‑contract checks with SCC, and providing timely support to the wider commercial team.

What will you be doing?
You'll raise purchase orders for subcontract and related requirements in line with M Group Highways governance rules and approvals.
You'll prepare and despatch subcontract orders once approvals are confirmed; arrange signature/execution by authorised signatories;
maintain a live tracker of order status and returns.
Liaise with the M Group Supply Chain Control (SCC) team and proposed subcontractors to issue, chase and log.
Pre‑Evaluation/Pre‑Contract Evaluation questionnaires, ensuring timely completion and communication to stakeholders.
We'll ask you to maintain central trackers (orders, PEQ status, commitments, accrual inputs, certificates), file executed agreements and keep price lists and supplier records up to date.
You'll act as a responsive point of contact for site commercial teams, SCC and supply‑chain partners, ensuring clear, timely communication and issue resolution.
Maintaining local data management systems and shared workspaces (e.g., CDEs, trackers), ensuring version control and audit readiness.
You'll follow company HSWE policies and champion safe, compliant ways of working in all procurement administration activity.

- Strong general IT capability with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with CPA and/or Oracle (or similar ERP) advantageous.
- Accurate, organised and methodical with a keen eye for detail and data integrity.
- Confident communicator able to convey clear, concise information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn the composition and requirements of subcontract documentation and approvals.
- Able to plan workload effectively, meet deadlines and identify practical solutions to process inefficiencies.
